Thank you for tuning in to Cubicle Chic! My name is Jessica, and I’m the writer and master content strategist behind this lifestyle blog. I am a career woman, a science nerd, a mom of 2 cats, a sporadically avid reader, and a habitual writer. I live with my husband in sunny and breezy San Diego, where we hike, surf, eat delicious tacos and drink beer from microbreweries. No, it really is like that here.
I’m also the person you see in most photos, in case you’re curious! Speaking of curiosity, it happens to be what got me started with Cubicle Chic in the summer of 2015. I was feeling uninspired in my corporate 9-5 job, and the idea of styling outfits and getting ready for photo shoots seemed incredibly exciting. And to be very honest, a career in blogging sounded like a good dream to chase. So, I called a few photographer friends and started working on my very first blog post.
About this blog:
Cubicle Chic was born out of my constant quest for fashion and styling tips as a career woman living in Corporate America. We know our skirts shouldn’t be too short and never wear fishnet or see-through outfits for work. But outside of the obvious faux-pas, how do we incorporate style and trends into what we wear in the office, so we create a strong personal brand, and become more confident in our everyday life? These are a few questions I’d like to address on Cubicle Chic.
Outside of the nailing the dress code, there is never a shortage of ways a woman can improve her professional self. Things like public speaking, time management, mentorship, negotiation, and stress management, to name a few, are aspects of a woman’s career that need constant honing. In addition to styling and fashion tips, you’d also find discussions on my experiences in improving my professional self.
